On Thursday 18th March,
Beth Coleman from the Somerset Waste Partnership came into school to work
with the children in Fir and Yew Class. It was a seasonal workshop entitled
Easter egg-stravaganzer and the children investigated Easter
egg packaging and developed their own environmentally friendly solutions
to over-packing. This involved looking at the component parts of boxed
Easter eggs and weighing the foil, any plastic and the cardboard to see
which was the most environmentally friendly. All the children were then
given an Easter egg and designed and made their own box.
Many thanks to Mrs
Cheryl Howells (HLTA) who organised this event with the Somerset Waste
Partnership.
