Somerset Waste Partnership – Film Making Day – March 2010

For the last 4 years we have been working with all the children to raise their awareness of reducing, reusing and recycling with workshops and our green days. On Thursday 25th March, working with Somerset Waste Partnership again, 6 year 2 children from Ash Class made a film about how we reduce, re-use and recycle at St Peters and supporting Earth Hour in School on Friday 26th March was another example of this. We turned off or reduced as much power as we could between 2.20pm and 3.20pm and every child in the school made and carried a lantern into Celebration Worship to make a statement that we care about our planet - now and in the future.

During the making of the film, the children contributed towards the script, decided on the location of the shots and operated the camera and sound boom themselves – they, Rupert Farthing at Somerset Waste Partnership and Mrs Cheryl Howells HLTA at St Peter’s deserve a big thank you. Great fun was had by all!!
