On Friday 5th February
St Peter's First School held a non-uniform day in aid of the Haiti earthquake.
Children were able to come to school in colourful clothes and pay a donation
of £1. We were very lucky to have the loan of a 'Shelter Box' from
the Minehead Rotarians to show to the children the aid that is sent to
countries when a disaster like this happens.
ShelterBox is an international disaster relief charity which provides
humanitarian aid worldwide in the form of shelter, warmth and dignity
for the people displaces by natural and other disasters. Each ShelterBox
contains a 10 person tent, water purification and cooking equipment, basic
tools, a stove and other essential equipment. Many thanks to everyone
who supported this worthwhile event a total of £143.00 was raised.
