We kick started our house system this year in style at St Peter’s by competing in a whole-school cross country. A big well done to all the children for participating and being great through both the sun and rain!

In each year group we chose a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Children who came 1st won 20 points for their house, 2nd won 10 points for their house and 3rd won 5 points for their house.  

1st – Mason Raymond, Taylor Howen, Louie Liddle, Harvey Lovell and Rowan Nicholls-Laramy.
2nd – Connor Stevens, William McGwyer, Ethan Carr, Natalie Hartland and Leo Abbott.
3rd – Catherine Towells, Joshua Poulton, Oliver Trunks, Aiden Gallagher and Thomas DeVine.

The cross country course took children around both the St Peter’s and Danesfield school fields. All children were encouraged to try their best whether they walker or ran. All teachers took part and many children were simply far too fast for the adults to keep up with! What fantastic runners we have!

There are four houses in the Quantock Federation of schools: Luttrell, Trevelyan, St Audries and Wyndham. At St Peter’s our house competition is intended to encourage co-operation between students of different year groups, as well as give a greater sense of belonging to the school and federation community. 

All our students are a member of one house and compete in a wide range of academic and sporting competitions.  Our one off events will range from cross countries to colouring competitions, providing all ages and talents with a chance to shine. Students also contribute to the house competition by: earning gold awards, reader awards, writer awards, having good attendance, ‘moving up’ a reading stage and by earning accreditations through Accelerated Reader.

Students are regularly informed of upcoming events through whole school worships. Check out our house display board in the school hall to see which house has earned themselves the most points!
