School Meals
School
meals are provided at a price of £2.15 for Key Stage 1 & £2.30
for Key Stage 2. These meals are cooked at Knights Templar First School,
and there is always a good choice of main course and sweet.
Payment
can be made by cash or cheque on Monday mornings. Cheques should be
made payable to Somerset County Council. At the beginning of each term,
parents are informed as to the cost for the full half term. Payment
made in advance is always adjusted and credits calculated should the
child have any absences. All money sent to school should be in a clearly
marked envelope.
Children may bring a packed lunch if parents prefer. A drink should
be brought in a leak-proof flask. We do not allow glass containers or
fizzy drinks. Free
school meals can be provided where there is financial need. Please contact
the school office if you think you may be eligible.
Health and Welfare
Should your child be absent from school through illness or any other reason
we ask you to telephone the school (on the 1st day of absence) or send
a written note.
We are required
to indicate reasons for absence in a daily register and publish annually
the number of children who are absent without authorisation.
If your child arrives
late at school you should report to the school office.
If your child is
taken ill at school, you will be contacted in order that he/she may
be taken home. Sometimes a child may require some form of medication,
which has to be administered during the school day - in this case a
parent or other responsible adult should visit the school to administer
it.
